Preparing to leave
The Australian Volunteers Program assists volunteers with getting ready to leave for assignment. Along with interactive online learning modules, volunteers participate in a three-day pre-departure briefing where they have the opportunity to connect with other volunteers and gain additional knowledge and skills to prepare for going on assignment.

On arrival
Once on the ground, volunteers participate in an in-country orientation program that includes important safety and security information, builds upon the pre-departure briefing, and is designed to help volunteers settle in.
Basic language training is included in the orientation program with the option to continue language lessons to enhance your volunteer experience.
